Tuan Chau International Marina is situated in Tuan Chau Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, on the southwestern side of Tuan Chau Island and facing the heart of Ha Long Bay (approximately 20.9° N, 106.9° E).
From the Bai Chay tourist area, the marina is about 12–13 km away, taking roughly 20 minutes by car. From Hanoi, the distance is over 150 km, with a travel time of around 2.5–3 hours via the Hanoi – Hai Phong – Ha Long expressway.
Tuan Chau Island is connected to the mainland by a sea-crossing road more than 2 km long and 15 m wide. This strategic location provides convenient access for cruise docking and offers beautiful views overlooking the bay.
The marina consists of two main areas: Tuan Chau Port 1 and Tuan Chau Port 2 (International Passenger Port), covering a total area of approximately 200 hectares.
Tuan Chau Port 2 was inaugurated in 2015 and is eleven times larger than Port 1. With a total berth length of around 7,000 meters, the marina can accommodate over 2,000 tourist boats at the same time and serve millions of passengers annually.
Construction of the port began in 2002, it officially started operations in 2009, and in 2012 it was licensed by the Ministry of Transport to receive international vessels.
The modern passenger terminal is one of the marina’s most impressive features. The new terminal officially opened on October 25, 2016, covering an area of 4,500 square meters and spanning three floors. Its design harmoniously blends European architectural elements with Vietnamese style, creating a spacious, elegant, and airy environment.
Beyond serving as a check-in area, the terminal is also a popular photo spot, thanks to its well-designed interiors and scenic views.
The check-in area is logically arranged with multiple counters operating simultaneously, allowing procedures to be completed quickly and efficiently. The waiting lounge is equipped with air conditioning, comfortable seating, and free Wi-Fi, ensuring a pleasant experience while waiting to board.
In addition, the marina features a mini supermarket, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and stalls selling Quang Ninh specialties, making it easy for visitors to shop or grab refreshments before departure.
